Leading cyber security provider Reliance ascn welcomes new advisory board member

Cyber security specialist, Reliance ascn, today announces the appointment of Carole Drape to its expert Advisory Board following a year of record growth for the business.

Boasting a 33-year career in IT, Carole spent 29 years leading teams at multinational energy company BP, in roles including Vice President of Infrastructure and Integration, Head of Delivery Services across the whole group, and VP of Operations Upstream and Operations Downstream. She is currently in post as the very first Director of Security and Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at the John Lewis Partnership where she has defined the role by setting the cyber security strategy for the business, running the organisation’s Security Operations Centre, and leading the wider information security team. Carole also leads on groupwide health and safety, groupwide physical security, as well as fraud and investigations, heading up a team of more than 350 people.

In addition, Carole works closely with the NCSC and major retailers to share cyber security policy and is an active member of the governing body of the UK-wide CISO community run by Evanta. Outside of work Carole has been a proud mentor for several years to young and disadvantaged communities with The Prince’s Trust, collaborating with schools and focusing on helping female students develop skills to launch their careers.
