John Noble CBE led on nearly 800 major cyber incidents over the course of his time as Director of Incident Management at the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). With the news of four critical vulnerabilities in Microsoft’s Exchange Server being actively exploited around the world, John Noble shares his thoughts on the situation with Reliance acsn.
‘In just over three months the recent Microsoft Exchange vulnerabilities have gone from initial zero-day attacks to apparent mass exploitation. The vulnerabilities have been further weaponised in the last few days to deploy ransomware upon compromise which has added to the severity of the situation. It’s imperative that organisations follow the NCSC advice to patch vulnerable services or implement the relevant mitigation. Don’t delay!’
